About

The Creative World of Maryam Sattar

I have a strong background in visual arts, photography, and creativity. This is part of my identity, and not only would my application be incomplete without it, but I would be too. I have had an interest in the arts since I was a young child and have been exploring many different forms of art, including drawing, painting, crafting, and sculpting. One of the arts that I have had an interest in is sketching different styles of buildings. My portfolio includes a sketch of the iconic building of the University of Glasgow, an example of Gothic architecture.

Over time, I have always pushed myself to keep improving and developing my skills as I grew older. Art is how I understand the world, it helps me understand my thoughts and feelings when words are not enough. Creativity has taught me to keep improving my work even after my mistakes. Not only has it taught me to be hardworking and have patience, but it has taught me that giving up is not a solution and will not help me in the future. While learning art in school and independently at home, I have learned to notice small details and see things from different perspectives. I have learned that art can be seen differently for everyone, and not everything that I call art is seen as art for everyone around me.

In my future career as an architect, I hope to use my creative skills to design spaces that are functional and meaningful. I want to design buildings and spaces that help improve everyday life, respond to human needs, and help the people around me. My background in art has helped me see the world, and it will continue to guide how I design it. Whether I go into an art based career or not, I want to use my creativity to solve problems and overall make a positive impact. Creativity will always guide how I think and act, and these skills will always be a part of me.
